We want to keep the rules simple

General rules for a Laptopbattle

• Contestant must be at least 18 years old.
• Surface 80cm x 80cm.
• One laptop.
• MIDI controllers of your choice. The controllers have to fit on the surface.
• One external sound card.
• No external synthesizers or effects.

Rules for the matches

• In three rounds two laptop musician compete one after another.
• The winner of each round is determined by the jury.
• The rounds are organized like this:
• Round 1: 8 artists in 4 battles, 3 min. for each contestant.
• Round 2: 4 artists in 2 battles, 6 min. for each contestant.
• Round 3: 2 artists each 10 min. - the final.
• Artists may choose to be faded out after the time limit or to receive a queue from the MC 30 seconds before the time limit. If the contestant is still playing when the time limit is reached he or she will be faded out.
